Opiate Addiction: Strategies for Creating Long-Term Sobriety and Increasing Treatment Adherence

With Alisa Robinson, PhD | August 26, 2016 12:00AM CDT

Opiate addiction is a serious epidemic in the United States. It has been estimated that up to 36 million people in America use opiates. More than 100 people die from opiate-related deaths each day. Many of the individuals with opiate addiction enter into detox and/or treatment. However, once in treatment, there are many specific barriers these individuals face. This webinar addresses the specific barriers to sobriety that opiate addicts encounter and will discuss effective strategies for helping opiate addicts get, and stay, sober. Attendees will learn ways to increase treatment effectiveness with this population and reduce the likelihood that a client with opiate addiction will leave treatment prematurely.
