This webinar examines the growing use of cannabis and psychedelic substances as legal landscapes and public perceptions continue to evolve. The presentation will review current evidence on the short and long term physical and mental effects of these substances, including cognitive, cardiovascular, and psychological impacts. Attendees will explore how legalization may intersect with increased use and the development of cannabis use disorder and other adverse outcomes. The session will also highlight current research and treatment approaches for problematic cannabis use and psychedelic related experiences, helping clinicians better understand risks, assessment considerations, and treatment strategies in a changing clinical environment.

Webinar: Sexual Addiction and Trauma
an Overview of the Behavior and Treatment Process

This is an in-depth exploration of sexual addiction as a process addiction. The presentation will cover the behavioral patterns, psychological underpinnings and trauma histories often associated with this condition. Attendees will gain insight into assessment tools, intake strategies, and treatment approaches, including 12-step models, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic interventions. Emphasis will be placed on reducing shame, fostering empathy, and understanding the complex interplay of addiction, mental health and early life experiences. The session also highlights the importance of certified sex addiction therapists and provides practical tools for clinicians working with this population.

About the Instructor

David Pellack, Ph.D., LPC, CSAT

Dr. David Pellack holds a doctorate from Indiana University Bloomington. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Since 2016, Dr. Pellack has been a key member of the Keystone Extended Care Unit (ECU) in the Philadelphia suburbs, a program specializing in the treatment of men’s sexual compulsivity, addiction, relationship issues and trauma.

  • Understand Development Risk Factors: Explore how sexual addiction develops, including psychological, biological and social influences
  • Recognize Symptoms & Warning Signs: Identify the common behavioral and emotional indicators of sexual addiction and related trauma
